1. Install the build on the system. Make sure that you have a JIRA Client license with active maintenance.
2. Log in to your account at Atlassian.com
3. Launch JIRA Client. Type your Jira Cloud address in the URL field and select the 'Jira Cloud' option.
4. Once the option is selected, the 'API Token' link will appear. Clicking on it will redirect you to your Atlassian profile, where you can create a new token clicking 'Create API token'. When the token is created, Copy it to clipboard.
5. Return to JIRA Client and type in your username, paste the copied token and click Next.
6. When the connection is successful, proceed with further configuration.

When JIRA Client is opened next time, you should be already authenticated.

In case you need to create a new Jira connection, you will need to create a new token. And since a token itself can only be copied once when it's created, if you need to recreate a connection, the used token would need to be revoked first and a new token would need to be created.
