To use the new JIRA Client build with its updated Cloud authentication mechanism, please do the following:
1. Install the build on the system. Make sure that you have a JIRA Client license with active maintenance.
2. Log in to your account at Atlassian.com
3. Launch JIRA Client. Type your Jira Cloud address in the URL field and select the Jira Cloud option.
42. Once the option is selected, the Password field will be renamed with the API Token link will appear. Clicking on it will redirect you to your Atlassian profile , where in the 'API tokens' section. If you're not logged in already, log in using your credentials there. Then you can create a new token clicking Create API token. When the token is created, , label it for convenience and Copy it to clipboard.
53. Return to JIRA Client and type in your username, paste the . In case you have more than one Atlassian profiles, the username should be of account with the created token.
4. Paste the copied token and click Next.
