To be able to synchronize with Bugzilla it is necessary to configure a Bugzilla connection. Create a new connection when running Deskzilla for the first time.

To create a new connection, do the following:

  1. Select New Bugzilla Connection from the Connection menu item.
  2. In the pop-up window specify the Bugzilla URL and login credentials.
  3. If anonymous access is selected, the application works in read-only mode and the user cannot modify any bugs or create new ones.
  4. Click the Advanced Settings button to configure the following parameters if necessary:
    1. E-mail suffix (What is it?)
    2. Charset for interacting with Bugzilla over HTTP
    3. Timezone
    4. HTTP Proxy
  5. After all required parameters are specified, click Next.
  6. If your Bugzilla is configured to use e-mail suffix and your login name is not your e-mail address, you are prompted to provide your e-mail address.
  7. After that, Deskzilla will try to connect to server. If there are connection problems, a notification with a possible reason is shown (i.e. Invalid Username Or Password).
  8. If the connection is configured correctly, the products selection window is shown. Select the products you want to work with and click Next.
  9. Specify the connection name and finish the connection configuration.

After the connection is configured Deskzilla will automatically synchronize with the selected Bugzilla server.

When adding products select only the necessary ones as this will reduce the local database size and enhance application speed.

To see connection settings, select Show Connection Info from the Connection menu.

To modify connection settings, select Edit Connection Settings either from the Connection menu or from the connection context menu right-clicking the connection name in the Navigation pane. After that go through the same steps as for a new connection creation.

To remove a connection, select Remove connection either from the Connection menu or from the connection context menu right-clicking the connection name in the Navigation pane.
