Installing JIRA Client
On Windows
To install the application, run downloaded the executable file and follow the instructions.
On Mac OS X
To install the application, copy it from the downloaded image.
On Linux
To install the application:
- Unpack the downloaded archive.
- Run
bin/jiraclient.sh
to start JIRA Client.
Upgrading JIRA Client
On Windows
To upgrade from previous version:
- Stop JIRA Client if it is running.
- Back up your workspace.
- Run the downloaded executable file.
- Select the same installation directory to overwrite the older version.
On Mac OS X
To upgrade from previous version:
- Stop JIRA Client if it is running.
- Back up your workspace.
- Copy a new version of the application from the downloaded image over the installed older version.
On Linux
To upgrade from previous version:
- Stop JIRA Client if it is running.
- Back up your workspace.
- Unpack the downloaded archive right over the older installation directory.
JIRA server should have remote API enabled for JIRA Client to work correctly. To enable remote API:
- In Administration | General Configuration, select Accept Remote API Calls.
- Enable "RPC JIRA Plugin" and "Issue Views Plugin" plug-ins.
Please note that you need to have JIRA administrator privileges to enable these options.
