Installing JIRA Client

On Windows

To install the application, run downloaded the executable file and follow the instructions.

On Mac OS X

To install the application, copy it from the downloaded image.

On Linux

To install the application:

  1. Unpack the downloaded archive.
  2. Run bin/jiraclient.sh to start JIRA Client.

Upgrading JIRA Client

On Windows

To upgrade from previous version:

  1. Stop JIRA Client if it is running.
  2. Back up your workspace.
  3. Run the downloaded executable file.
  4. Select the same installation directory to overwrite the older version.

On Mac OS X

To upgrade from previous version:

  1. Stop JIRA Client if it is running.
  2. Back up your workspace.
  3. Copy a new version of the application from the downloaded image over the installed older version.

On Linux

To upgrade from previous version:

  1. Stop JIRA Client if it is running.
  2. Back up your workspace.
  3. Unpack the downloaded archive right over the older installation directory.

JIRA server should have remote API enabled for JIRA Client to work correctly. To enable remote API:

  • In Administration | General Configuration, select Accept Remote API Calls.
  • Enable "RPC JIRA Plugin" and "Issue Views Plugin" plug-ins.
    Please note that you need to have JIRA administrator privileges to enable these options.
